What Works News U Can Use Newsletter - May 2023

With the award to KDM & Associates, LLC to operate the MBDA Federal Procurement Center, in July 2021 we kicked off our commitment to work with Minority Business Enterprises and help small emerging businesses grow their revenues in the Federal contracting sector.  I am delighted in this month's edition of the What Works News U Can Use to talk about where we have come from and where we are now.  On May 18th, we engaged for a second time at the  Hispanics In Energy Annual Conference, where CEO’s from our Nation's utility companies focused on building an equitable Hispanic workforce and C-suite participation in the era of alternative clean energy, transforming how energy is generated and supplied to our communities.

In 2023, the MBDA Federal Procurement Center celebrates the first ever MOU signed with Hispanics In Energy.  The month of May also included an invitation to speak at the Wireless Infrastructure Association, with the opportunity to join Under Secretary Don Cravins where he gave an impassioned recognition for the emerging $100 Billion Broadband industry, which thanks to new funding and grant programs will now bring Broadband service to previously underserved parts of the country.

And also in the month of May 2023 – we congratulate our very own Calvin Minor for assisting in supporting two of our MBDA FPC clients Capital Premier Construction, LLC and Indigo Blue Construction, LLC – which teamed together to win a position on the District of Columbia Water and Sewage Authority’s $130,000,000 multi-year IDIQ contract – specifically, a Master Service Agreement titled ‘LEAD FREE DC SERVICE LINE REPLACEMENT PROGRAM’.  Capital Premier is the prime contractor on this contract, with Indigo Blue, a Woman-owned, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, as Capital Premier's subcontractor.  By replacing lead water piping and contaminated drinking water, these two Minority-owned Small Businesses will be helping to bring environmental justice to the underserved communities of Washington DC.

As the month of May has proven, we look forward to you enjoying in this edition, the many validations that the MBDA FPC is working on What Works - EVERYDAY, in America and around the Globe.
