Mr. Faison holds two bachelor’s Degrees: a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from Fayetteville State University, Fayetteville, North Carolina, and a Masters of Geosciences from Murray State University, Murray, Kentucky.

Mr. Faison started his professional career in emergency management, working for the Baltimore City Mayor’s Office for Emergency Management (MOEM) as the Geospatial Information Systems (GIS)/IT manager.  During his tenure with the MOEM, Mr. Faison served on the Technology Committee for Baltimore Metro Council, where he managed a 10-million-dollar budget representing seven jurisdictions. He also received certifications for FEMA ICS and participated in several city’s large-scale events.

Mr. Faison left the City of Baltimore to work for the largest emergency management software company with WebEOC. While at Esi Acquisitions, known as “WebEOC”, he served as Federal Regional Manager supporting many national-level events, such as the Presidential Inauguration of President Obama and several Superbowl games.

In 2011, he supported a few of the Alabama tornadoes that destroyed many cities in the Brigham and Jefferson County area. He worked countless nights to upgrade their system and develop new data capture boards. Also, in 2011, he supported the Haiti Earthquake remotely from his DC Office, working long hours to help reconnect families.

In 2012, Mr. Faison joined the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) as National Geospatial-Intelligence Lead on the National Incident Management Team.  During his tenure at FEMA, he supported 26 Type 1 disasters as the Geospatial Leader, served as the GIS Lead during Hurricane Sandy, and received the highest award at the agency, “The Administrator Award,” for two innovation projects. One of the projects was developed during Hurricane Sandy, which tracked all the assignments of Disaster Staff leverage mobile GIS called SMART “Survivor Mobile Application Reporting Tool.” The second tool developed was the Automated Common Operating Picture, which pulled 20 years of data to be used by FEMA Leadership. Mr. Faison would later take on a more senior role in Response and Recovery, supporting technology innovation.

In 2016, Mr. Faison moved to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Federal Protective Services, serving as Deputy Director of Analysis and Management. He would be given the responsibilities of establishing data management and data governance and served as the data policy lead for the entire agency. Before he departed from federal service, Mr. Faison served as Deputy Director of the Information Technology Division.

Mr. Faison’s professional experience helped spearhead the company SpatialGIS, which is based in Maryland. He serves as the CEO of the company, and the services include support for Response and Recovery, Logistics, and Operation support in Joint Field Office (JFO).
